Rooted - Summer Apprenticeship!

The Rooted Summer Apprenticeship exists to help neighborhood teens serve their local community while finding their future path.  

 

Since 2021 Sunnyside has hired local teens to help aid in the growing of our food.  In 2021 we employed 2 teens, in 2022 we employed 7, and in 2023 we are hoping to expand to 10.  

 

Our apprenticeship pays the teens who work for us, allows them to take food home, and connects them to learn about the opportunities they have after high school.  We take tours at local colleges, invite speakers from local businesses, and allow teens to spend time trying out new jobs.
